Brief
Maya Lab Bio-Product Development Program
Maya Lab helps product companies develop biotech-enabled ingredients, actives, materials, and product concepts without building an internal biotech team.
The Problem
Many product companies want cleaner ingredients, stronger claims, better sourcing, or proprietary product lines. The gap is technical: which biological route makes sense, who should execute it, and what needs to be proven first?
Best Fit
- existing product company
- clear category or ingredient problem
- innovation, product, or R&D owner
- need for external biotech capability
What Maya Lab Does
We turn a commercial product goal into a development-ready path: product target, biological route, technical roadmap, partner strategy, risks, milestones, and first experiments worth running.
Example Directions
- bio-made ingredients and actives
- fermentation-derived compounds
- peptides, enzymes, and proteins
- cleaner production routes
First Project Output
A focused development plan covering the product target, route options, recommended technical path, partner/vendor map, risk and blocker analysis, milestone plan, and next-phase execution proposal. The goal is a serious go/no-go decision before heavy lab, vendor, or hiring spend.
Phase 1
The Development Design Program typically runs 4 to 6 weeks and focuses on one product or ingredient direction.
Client Inputs
The client provides the product category, commercial goal, constraints, existing suppliers or R&D context, target claims, and internal decision criteria.
After Phase 1
If the direction is approved, Maya Lab can support managed development with labs, CROs, vendors, and technical partners. The next phase is scoped separately around execution milestones.
